About 1Newark

1Newark is a local digital community platform built for the people of Newark, New Jersey.

Our mission is simple: to make it easy for Newark residents to stay informed about what's happening in their city and to connect with their community.

What we do

We bring together local news, community updates, and important information in one place — making 1Newark a digital town square for the city.

Our community

Beyond this website, 1Newark runs a WhatsApp community where members receive local news, community updates, and important announcements directly on their phones.

We focus exclusively on Newark. No national news, no clickbait — just what matters to our city.
